SIMPLE WHITE SAUCE

SIMPLE WHITE SAUCE

A smooth, creamy white sauce made with butter, flour, and milk-perfect for casseroles, veggies and pasta.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
  2. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Cook over medium heat; stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and bubbly; remove from heat.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly; boil and stir 3 -5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and use immediately, or keep warm until serving.
