Ingredients

  • 6 large pork chops
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large onion, peeled and chopped
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a small amount of oil over medium-high heat. Brown the pork chops on both sides.
  3. Arrange the sliced potatoes in an even layer in the bottom of the dish. Top with the chopped onion and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the browned pork chops over the potato mixture.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Pour evenly over the pork chops.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the Cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Return to the oven and bake an additional 30 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through, the potatoes are tender, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
