SWEET & TANGY GREEN BEANS WITH BACON

A classic Southern-style side dish with tender green beans, smoky bacon, and the perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 cans cut green beans, drained
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove, crumble, and set aside, leaving a little bacon drippings in the skillet.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened.
  3. Stir in the green beans, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  4. Simmer over low heat, uncovered, stirring often, until the liquid has cooked away.
  5. Add the crumbled bacon back in, stir, and serve warm.
