ORANGE BROWNIES

These bright and citrusy brownies are soft, buttery, and packed with fresh orange flavor. The sweet orange glaze on top makes them extra delicious!

Ingredients

BROWNIES
  • 2 sticks (1 cup) butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure orange extract
ORANGE GLAZE
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 2-4 tablespoons fresh orange juice

Instructions

BROWNIES
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Stir in the orange extract.
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  4. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
ORANGE GLAZE
  1. Whisk together the powdered sugar, orange zest, and 2 tablespoons of orange juice, Add more orange juice, a little at a time, until the glaze reaches your desired consistency.
  2. Allow the brownies to cool completely, then drizzle or spread the orange glaze over the top. Let the glaze set before cutting into squares.
