MOM'S FRIED CABBAGE

A simple comforting side dish full of smoky bacon flavor and tender cabbage--just like Mom makes.

Ingredients

  • 1 head (about 2 lbs) cabbage, chopped
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain, reserving a little bacon drippings in the skillet.
  2. Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage begins to soften. Cover with a lid and continue cooking until tender.
  4. Stir the crumbled bacon back into the cabbage.
  5. Serve warm.
