This hearty casserole brings together savory beef, tender noodles, and melted cheddar for a family--friendly dinner that's as easy as it is delicious.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 heaping tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 8 oz wide egg noodles
- 2 cups sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef with onion and green pepper until beef is browned and vegetables are tender. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package directions; drain.
- Combine the noodles with the beef mixture and spread evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle cheese over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
