CANDY CANE COOKIES

Softened candy canes shaped into hearts and filled with melted almond bark for an easy adorable Christmas treat.

Ingredients

  • Candy canes (unwrapped)
  • Vanilla almond bark or chocolate almond bark
  • Crushed candy canes (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°.
  2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  3. Place unwrapped candy canes in pairs on the sheet, with the curved ends forming a rough heart shape.
  4. Bake for 5-8 minutes, just until the candy canes become soft--don't let them melt flat.
  5. Remove from the oven and immediately press and pinch ends together to form a heart shape. Let them cool slightly.
  6. Melt vanilla almond bark or chocolate almond bark in the microwave or over a double boiler.
  7. Spoon the melted bark inside the candy cane hearts and gently spread it out.
  8. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes (or festive sprinkles).
  9. Allow to cool and set completely.
  10. Enjoy!
