PECAN PIE DUMP CAKE
This pecan pie dump cake has all the rich, gooey flavor of classic pecan pie but with the ease of a dump-and-bake dessert. Sweet, buttery, and perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 stick butter, cut in pats
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Melt the butter and pour into a 9x13 baking dish. Swirl to coat the bottom evenly.
- Spread the pecan halves evenly over the butter in a single layer.
- Mix the brown sugar, water, vanilla, and cinnamon. Stir until smooth and syrupy.
- Pour the sugar mixture over the pecans. It's okay if it doesn't fully cover them.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly on top. Don't stir.
- Place pats of butter on top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes.
- Allow to cool for 15 minutes. This helps the syrup settle and the texture firm up.
- Serve warm with ice cream.
