Easy Football Cake

FOOTBALL CAKE
This easy cake is perfect for game day! Start with a simple round cake, cut it into a football shape, and decorate with chocolate and vanilla frosting to make the laces.
Ingredients
- 1 box Chocolate Cake Mix (plus the ingredients to prepare the cake)
- 1 tub Chocolate Fudge Frosting
- 1 tub White or Vanilla Frosting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
- Grease and flour a 9-inch round pan (line with parchment for easy removal).
- Pour in the batter and bake as directed, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely on a wire rack before shaping.
- Place the cooled cake on a large cutting board.
- Using a serrated knife, cut a 1-inch strip from the center of the round cake.
- Push the two curved sides together on a serving platter to form a football shape.
- Spread chocolate frosting evenly over the entire cake.
- Spoon white frosting into a piping bag (or a zip-top bag with the corner snipped).
- Pipe one long line down the center of the cake. Add several short horizontal lines across it to create football laces.
